Wired's Alexis Madrigal commissioned me to create a custom banner for his history of green tech site, Inventing Green. He's currently working on a comprehensive book on the subject that will be published sometime in the next year (I'll update with the exact date). So awesome, I am really honored. Thanks Alex!

Whew, I forgot about this blog altogether! But now I'm back. For a minute anyway.

The show at the Redwing went fantastically. Several pieces sold and people were very encouraging about the work, so thanks everyone who came to see!

I have a show up at the moment at the Goldrush at 2601 NE MLK Blvd. It's a great place, so if you find yourself in the neighborhood, swing by and check it out. Actually, a nice guy who goes by the name of Alan just posted an entry about my work at the Goldrush at the MLK In Motion blog. There's only a few pictures, but it's a good way to see some of the larger pieces I mentioned in a previous post if you're not in town. So thanks for that, Alan.

Another thing, I'll be having a show in June at the Tiny's on Hawthorne which I am excited about as it should mostly be new material. With any luck, I will also be having a reception somewhere around the first with, hopefully, live noise bands playing. I'll try to remember to keep details posted on this blog.

Here's a few comics I scanned in today. There are also some comics currently hanging on the wall at Goldrush that I neglected to scan in before the show. I'll try to get those up later.

Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond my control (and involving vomit), the show at the Red Wing won't be up until at least tomorrow (March 4th), and possibly not until Thursday. I'm eager to get this stuff hung. In the meantime, here's a few more pieces that will be on display. Remember, the originals of most of the artwork on this blog will be available for sale!

A note on postings, or lack thereof:

As anyone who has visited on a regular basis has doubtlessly noticed, I sometimes go a week or two at a time without posting. I want to make it clear why these lapses occur.

The project I am working on now, that is, the comics you have seen recently on this site, are not meant for "internet consumption." I am making these pieces specifically to showcase and sell as individual artwork. This means I often do work too large to fit in my scanner without some difficulty. As a result, readers of this blog only see select comics. To make it up to you, I've posted two I know you'll enjoy.

To see all the work I've produced, check out my show at the Redwing Cafe, located at 1700 SE 6th Avenue here in Portland, Oregon. It will go up on Monday or so and be on display the entire month of March.

Due to overwhelming popular demand, here are some close-up pictures of the drawdio. As absolute electronics n00bs, we worked hard to put this thing together (we even etched the circuit board), so why not show it off?

Here's the guts. We housed it in an Altoides tin for stability and protection. The original design called for a speaker, but we replaced that with an audio jack:

Next, we chopped up some old socks and voila! Total sweetness.

Here's a couple pictures of the show I did at The Sorority House for their New Year's noise show. There are more, but I will post most of the comics from the show on this blog, so I won't bother with the pics right now.

That pencil drawing I used to play an amped-up drawdio I had built with the (indispensable) help of a couple friends. Dr. Science was nice enough to ask me to play the thing during his set, which was a damned blast. Dr. Science has more about the show, along with video, at his blog, p0pularScience.

Finally, here is a comic that was not displayed at the show. I think I may have left it at home that night. I'm not sure. There will be more comics like this one in the coming days. Happy New Year!

Well, dammit. I was really hoping Clinton would be out of the race today, even though I knew it wasn't likely. But apparently, winning an extra 4 to 9 delegates constitutes a huge, gigantic, monumental, incredible, insurmountable, comeback! I hope those few delegates were worth all the negative campaigning. Sad when that kind behavior gets rewarded.
